July 4th Celebration, July 3, 2019

Recap

Over 130 residents came out to celebrate Independence Day on a warm and sunny Wednesday evening!

A bicycle parade, led by the Travis County Fire Department, kicked off the festivities. Bikes were decked out in red, white and blue, participants rocked the stars and stripes from their shirts to their socks and American flags were proudly waving. Patriotism was definitely in the air!

Once the parade concluded, everyone headed back to the park to continue the fun where firefighters gave tours of their bright red fire engine and residents cooled down with cold drinks and refreshing popsicles. With July 4th themed music in the background, friendly competition was on display as residents took part in both a watermelon and pie-eating contest. Congratulations to Greta and Emma for placing first in their rounds of the watermelon-eating contest along with Beau, Grayson and Miller (a firefighter!) who took first place in their rounds of the pie-eating contest. Thank you to all who participated!

It was a wonderful day that brought to light what community is all about and we look forward to seeing everyone on Saturday, August 17th for the Splash Bash Pool Party. Until then….

Do Good. Be Happy. And say Hello to your Nabr. 🙂
