Food Truck Night, October 12, 2018

Recap

Friday’s Food Truck Night was one to remember. In addition to the delicious food trucks there was also art to peruse, mayoral and council candidates to meet and fun fall games to be played. There was no shortage of things to do!

Not only were residents attendees of the event, they were part of the event as well. Ten talented artists took part in Circle C’s Art Bazaar, giving fellow residents the opportunity to see the creativity that lives within their NabrHood. There was handmade jewelry, one-of-a-kind paintings, decorative yard art and much more on display. Thank you to all participants for sharing your talent!

Kids had their pick of activities from tic-tac-toe played with festive fall gourds, to creating giant bubbles and coloring on Blue Sky Dentistry’s awesome coloring tablecloth, to competing in cornhole courtesy of Baylor Scott & White, to vying for the last seat in musical chairs – there was something for everyone! A big thank you to Julie G Homes for providing amazing prizes for the winners. If that wasn’t enough to tire out the kiddos, then Leo’s Dance Party sure did! As evening descended, laser lights and glow sticks lit up the night and the music heated up. Leo led kids in an energy filled dance party where they got to show off their dancing skills and learn some new moves.

As Election Day draws near, residents had the chance to meet and greet with candidates running for City Council District 8 including Frank Ward, Bobby Levinski, Rich DePalma and Paige Ellis. Laura Morrison, Austin mayoral candidate, was also in attendance, chatting with residents and learning about the NabrHood. It was a wonderful opportunity to really get to know the people behind the signs and put faces to the names.

Even with so much to do and see, there was still plenty of time to catch up with Nabrs. Families and friends gathered around tables while enjoying free microbrews provided by Rentsch Brewery and a delicious variety of food. Thank you to everyone for making it a night to remember! We look forward to seeing everyone on October 29th for Boo Bash, until then….

Do Good. Be Happy. And say Hello to your Nabr. 🙂
