Oktoberfest, October 19, 2018

Recap

Did you know that the Oktoberfest in Germany is considered the world’s biggest folk festival? Well on Friday evening, over 70 residents gathered to partake in a little Oktoberfest fun of their own. While not as big, it was just as fun with food, a Polka band and of course beer!

The Austin Polka Band regaled residents with Polka and traditional German music and even broke out into a bit of dancing! With lively music being played, everyone gathered around tables to catch up with their Nabrs and enjoy delicious German cuisine including brats, sauerkraut, pretzels with spicy mustard and German potato salad. Synonymous with Oktoberfest is beer and Rentsch Brewery provided a free microbrew tasting of refreshing German staples such as Oktoberfest, Hefeweizen and Weizenbock. Waterloo Sparkling Water was also available for all to enjoy.

It was a fun event to start off the weekend right! We look forward to seeing everyone again on December 7th for Christmas with Santa. Until then……

Do Good. Be Happy. And say Hello to your Nabr. 🙂
