July 4th Celebration, July 4, 2019

Recap

Over 125 residents came out to celebrate Independence Day on a warm July 4th morning!

A bicycle parade, led by the Austin Fire Department, kicked off the festivities. Bikes were decked out with red, white and blue, participants rocked the stars and stripes from their shirts to their socks and American flags were proudly waving. Patriotism was definitely in the air!

Once the parade concluded, everyone headed back to the park where firefighter Whitney, and her crew, gave personal tours of their fire engine and a hands-on explanation of how everything worked. Thank you to Station 29 for spending time connecting with residents of the Oak Parke NabrHood. To conclude the fun, kids were asked about their favorite part of the July 4th holiday. 5 year-old Grace and 6 year-old Blake shared that they enjoyed spending time with family, the bike parade and fireworks!

It was a wonderful day that brought to light what community is all about and we look forward to seeing everyone on Saturday, August 17th for the Dive-In Movie. Until then….

Do Good. Be Happy. And say Hello to your Nabr. 🙂
