Concert in the Park, Friday, September 17th

Recap

Over 100 residents came out to kick off the weekend at Oak Parke’s Concert in the Park. The evening had something for everyone – live music, tasty food, fun games and most importantly great company.

Even though the calendar may say fall is right around the corner, the temps still felt like summer! On the Armadillo Den Sound Stage, the Dave Orr Band heated up the evening even more with his bluesy guitar music. With great music setting the tone, kids had fun participating in potato sack races, competing in a Hula Hoop showdown and trying to be the last one sitting in musical chairs. Jason, with iCode, was giving out cool Robotic Legos to kiddos to play with as well. Adults could be found catching up with friends while sipping on refreshing Texas beers in the South Austin Beer Garden (a big shout out to SABG for handing out gift cards!).

For those who worked up an appetite, Wing Kingz served up tasty food and Good Times kept everyone cool with tasty ice cream. The night was rounded out with Leo’s dance party, which featured Leo and his Oak Parke back-up dancers! It truly was a fun filled evening and we thank everyone who came out to make this event such a success. We look forward to seeing you on October 17th for Fall Fest, until then….

Do Good. Be Happy. And say Hello to your Nabr. 🙂
