A sense of community was in the air as Nabrs participated in Texas’ official National Night Out on a warm Tuesday evening! Residents had the opportunity to connect, not only with their Nabrs, but also with the first responders that serve their community including the Cedar Park Firestation, the Cedar Park Police and Animal Control.
The Cedar Park fire fighters arrived with their bright red fire truck, explaining what goes into operating a real life fire engine and giving children the opportunity to climb inside. There were plenty of photo ops to be had! Officers with the Cedar Park police department chatted with residents, answered questions and cheered on the little ones in games such as Bounce in the Bucket and Saucer Toss.
Both kids and adults displayed their competitive eating skills as they participated in a cupcake-eating contest with the objective being to finish off a cupcake as quickly as possible without using their hands. It was a fun and messy contest!! The kids did an amazing job with medals awarded to all participants. The winner of the adult round finished off the cupcake in one bite and received 2 tickets to the Tequila Festival.
Speaking of tequila, 1872 Tequila was in the house serving up tastings. Fun fact the owners, the Castaneda's, are Red Oaks residents! The evening also featured refreshing microbrews provided by Rentsch Brewery, Adelbert's Brewery and Independence Brewery. Free pizza, soda and juice boxes were also available for all to enjoy!
Jennifer B & the Groove provided the perfect backdrop to an evening full of fun! There were memories made, friendships formed and most importantly a community becoming more connected. We look forward to future events and until then……
