40th Anniversary Celebration, May 13,2018

The Shady Hollow residents were ready to celebrate the 40th anniversary of their community! We kicked off the afternoon with some tunes from Jennifer B and the Groove. As nabrs arrived they were able to grab a cold beer from our microbrew partners, Shady Brewco, NXNW and Last Stand Brewery pouring Free samples.

The four BBQ Cook- Off teams were down below the community center with their rigs. A few of the contestants had been cooking since the night before. After announcing the winners the residents were able to do a taste sampling of the brisket.  A big shout out to Mark for coordinating the cook-off for Shady Hollow.

There were approximately 350 residents that came out to enjoy the festivities. Nabrs brought their lawn chairs and blankets to hang out and listen to some good music and make an afternoon of it. After Jennifer B and the Groove played their set we took a short break to get into some Bakyard Olympiks. The adult teams competed to qualify for the City Finals next Sunday, May 20th, at Buck's Bakyard 2-6pm. Congrats to all the qualifying teams- Matt and Mona, Micah and Kelly, Mandi and Michael, Jeff and Todd, Chris and Charles, Michael and William, & Deb and John.

The Second band The Somebodies came on around 6pm to play their set    for the second half of the event. Nabrs were dancing and singing along. The kids were entertained with the bounce houses, Learning Fun 101's Legos, The bucket high rise ride provided by Dunman Electric and bubbles. Some children even played games and enjoyed a water balloon toss with our HelloNabr teammates Will, Tommy and Logan. Run Tommy Run!!
