Pool Party, June 30, 2018

Recap

The 4thof July festivities started early in the West Cypress Hills NabrHood with over 100 residents celebrating Independence Day on a beautiful sunny Saturday

A bicycle parade, led by the West Cypress Fire Department, kicked off the day. Bikes were decked out with red, white and blue bows, participants rocked the stars and stripes from their shirts to their socks and American flags were proudly waving. Patriotism was definitely in the air!

Once the parade concluded, everyone headed back to the pool area to cool off with some pool games including ring finder, claw catch and water tag with Anila Cardyn from AMEC Mortgage handing out prizes. After working up an appetite from all the fun, free pizza from CraigO’s was dished out. To quench everyone’s thirst, Waterloo Sparkling Water was available and for the adult palate Whitney Newton Realty offered a microbrew tasting featuring Adelbert’s Brewery. Free popsicles provided by Cynthia Roten with Camp Gladiator rounded out the menu!

The day wouldn’t have been complete without a salute to our veterans and first responders. As our national anthem played in the background everyone took the time to thank those who gave so much for our country.

It was a wonderful day that brought to light what community is all about and we look forward to the next event in West Cypress Hills. Until then…..

Do Good. Be Happy. And say Hello to your Nabr. 🙂
